Millennium Tools is dedicated to preparing on-the-ground teams in poor communities throughout the Global South to organize people living in extreme poverty.
The keys to success:
“Never do for others what they can do for themselves.” Experience proves that poor people can do for themselves what cannot be done as well for them by others.
People can achieve their best efforts only when they work together. The organizing approach locates the means to address poverty in the hands of those currently struggling under its heavy burden.
Millennium Tools collaborates with action agencies, local organizations, and indigenous leaders who seek to apply theories and best practices of effective organizing in specific local contexts throughout the Global South.
Community organizing methodologies represent a set of critical tools for crafting holistic solutions to extreme poverty; particularly when the poor themselves are able to hold these tools in their own hands.
Millennium Tools is non-proselytizing in nature and content. It seeks to be a learning community in which all traditions that provide fertile soil for community organizing are welcomed and respected.
